Kazakhstan reaches 1/4 finals of United Cup in Australia
Kazakhstan's national tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the United Cup, a mixed team tournament in Sydney and Perth, Australia, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from Olympic.kz.
Recall that Team Kazakhstan got into Group C along with Spain and Greece. Kazakhstan defeated Spain with a score of 2:1.
Alexander Shevchenko beat world No. 11 Stefanos Tsitsipas with a score of 6:4, 7:6 in the 2nd round of the event.
Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina defeated Maria Sakkari (6:4, 6:3) to advance Kazakhstan to the 1/4 finals. The third game in the series against Greece will not have any impact on the overall tournament standings.
The next opponent will be determined later.
As earlier reported, Elena Rybakina had tied up the score against Team Spain at the United Cup in Australia.
