Kazakhstan ranks 82nd among 182 countries in HDI

ASTANA.  October 6. KAZINFORM  /Gulnara Zhandagulova/  Human development index of Kazakhstan is 0.804 in 2009 that lets our country rank the 82nd out of  182 countries of the world.

The data was provided by the United Nations in its new report in Astana today. The second part of the report covers rating of the countries in human potential development index - the index of human well-being.

The human potential development index provides a composite of the indices of life expectancy, literacy, educational level and per capita GDP.

It should be noted that between 1997 and 2007 the HDI of Kazakhstan rose by 0.20% annually - from 0.778 to 0.804 to date.

This year the human potential development index calculated for182 countries and territories.
