Kazakhstan railroad monopoly almost doubled profit last year

ASTANA. June 12. KAZINFORM JSC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Co., the country's state-run railroad monopoly, said it had profit of 123.2 billion tenge ($828 million) last year, almost double earnings in 2010.

The rail operator boosted profit from 66.5 billion tenge the previous year, the Astana-based company said in a statement on its website. First-quarter profit fell to 27.7 billion tenge from 28.3 billion tenge in the fourth quarter of 2011, Kazinform has learnt from Bloomberg.
