ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In late October 2014 the Government of Kazakhstan transferred funds form Voluntary multi-partner fund for the United Nations to combat Ebola.
The trust fund was established to support the joint efforts of governments and other partners and to mobilize the necessary voluntary contributions to address the problems associated with the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The Fund's aim is to mobilize, in the beginning of November the current year, $1 billion for the elimination of Ebola outbreak. At present time, the UN has put five main objectives to combat this challenge: to stop the outbreak, to provide treatment for those infected, to provide the necessary services to maintain stability and prevent the further spread of the virus.
