Kazakhstan proposes to focus efforts on combating drug traffic - Kazakh President

TASHKENT. June 11. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarhan/ Kazakhstan proposes to focus efforts in the sphere of drugs control. Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said it at the enlarged session of the SCO Council of Heads on Friday, June 11.
As the Head of the State noted, special attention is paid to struggle against drug trafficking, which became a major source of terrorist activity. Adoption of the SCO Anti-Drug Strategy for 2011-2016 will promote effectiveness of measures aimed at combating illicit drug trafficking, N. Nazarbayev said.
«Kazakhstan proposes to focus joint efforts of the SCO member states on the existing structures on combating drug trafficking in the region. The Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre can be an important element of the global network on the fight against illegal drug trafficking», N. Nazarbayev noted.
