The information was about the high-voltage power lines called CASA-1000, which is planned to connect Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan with the countries suffering from power shortages - Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"This power line will allow Kazakhstan to sell electricity to Afghanistan and Pakistan especially in the winter period. The work on this project is still in the very early phase, but if it is implemented we will have a great opportunity to realize our export potential," he noted.

Besides, implementation of a joint with China project on construction of the direct-current power line to central and eastern regions of China is deemed to be a promising project on development of the energy system of Kazakhstan.
