Kazakhstan plans to build grain terminal on border of Turkmenistan and Iran

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan plans to build a grain terminal on the border of Turkmenistan and Iran, said Managing Director - Commercial Director of "Food Corporation NC" JSC Nurbek Dairbekov at a briefing in Central Communications Service.
"We are planning to commission a new railway line that will connect Kazakhstan and Iran through Turkmenistan. Therefore, we are to consider the construction of a grain terminal on the border between Turkmenistan and Iran", he explained. N. Dairbekov stressed that Iran is a traditional importer of Kazakh wheat. According to this year's forecast Iran will import about 1.2 million tons of wheat. Food Corporation is considering grain terminals creation in an easterly direction. This will help to stabilize and further increase the volume of exports, both in China and in the CIS countries.
