Kazakhstan plans to boost uranium production to 19 600 tons in 2011

ASTANA. February 1. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan plans to produce more than 19.6 thousand tons of uranium in 2011, 'Kazatmprom' JSC head Vladimir Shkolnik said at a board meeting of Kazakh Industry and New Technologies Ministry on Tuesday.
According to him, Kazatomprom will produce over 11 thousand tons of uranium out of the total amount.
Last year Kazakhstan produced 17 803 tons, including Kazatomprom's 9 000 tons of uranium oxide concentrate that is 33% more than in 2009.
