Kazakhstan People's Assembly plays important role in our future OSCE chairmanship - Saudabayev

ANA. October 26. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ The People's Assembly of Kazakhstan plays an important role in the country's oncoming OSCE chairmanship. Kanat Saudabayev, the Secretary of State - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has noted in his speech at the enlarged sitting of the Assembly's Council in Astana today.

"Within our chairmanship in this Organization we will have to hold a general conference on tolerance and take part in all OSCE activities on humanitarian dimension", he said.

According to him, presidency of Kazakhstan in the OSCE falls on the period when East-West dialogue experiences uneasy time. Kazakhstan is ready to act as an initiator of the constant dialogue among civilizations, cultures, religions and be its active promoter. In 2009 representatives of the Secretariat and Council of the Assembly, scientific-expert council have held a number of important activities with OSCE high Commissioner for National Minorities.

"We must continue the dialogue on humanitarian dimension issues. I am confident that the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan will play an important role in Kazakhstan's future OSCE chairmanship", he stressed.

Alongside the Sec of State highlighted the growing role of the Assembly as an institutional organization, its information potential and interaction with state bodies.
