Kazakhstan - pattern of religious peace-keeping - Chairman of Russia's Mufti Council

KAZINFORM. /Kanat Kulshmanov/ "Kazakhstan is an example of preservation of peace between religions and peoples", Chairman of the Mufti Council of Russia Sheik Ravil Gaynutdin has said at the press conference devoted to the III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana today.

"Kazakhstan is a pattern of peace-keeping between religions and peoples, as well as the country protecting rights of religious believers and granting equal rights to different religions and confessions", R. Gaynutdin said.

He noted that "despite the difference of opinions on the most urgent issues of our religious directions we reach compromise and mutual understanding. Obviously it promotes peace and stability in our society." 

"Muslims of Russia consider the 21st century is not the time of confrontation between religions, nations and civilizations. It is a century of interreligious cooperation, mutual understanding and dialog of civilizations", the Chairman stressed.
