Kazakhstan passes bill on transit of Italian armed forces via its territroy

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today, Majilis, lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament, has endorsed the bill on ratification of the Agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Italy on ensuring transit of military equipment and personnel via Kazakhstan's territory in connection with participation by the Italian Armed Forces in efforts to stabilize and rehabilitate the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
"The agreement establishes procedures for effecting the said transit via Kazakhstan's territory by air and rail," Vice Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Okas Saparov said introducing the bill at the plenary session of the chamber. The agreement was signed in Astana on February 19, 2013.
