Kazakhstan participates in Symposium of International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions

The event was opened by Heinz Fischer, Austrian Federal President. Wu Hongbo, UN Under-Secretary General for economic and social affairs, Carman Lapointe, UN Under-Secretary General for internal oversight services and Joseph Moser, Secretary General of INTOSAI addressed the participants of the symposium in their opening statements. The symposium was attended by a delegation of the Accounts Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Chairman Kozy-Korpesh Janburchin. In the margins of the symposium, a series of bilateral meetings of Mr. Janburchin with the heads of supreme audit institutions from other countries were held to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation. Symposium participants discussed the role of supreme audit institutions (SAIs) in achieving sustainable development and their contribution to the implementation of the post-2015 development agenda. Following the results of the conference recommendations related to strengthening the role of SAIs in the field of sustainable development will be adopted. INTOSAI is an international organization of supreme audit institutions, uniting the SAIs of UN member states. INTOSAI was found in 1953. It is composed of SAIs of 191 countries of the world, while another 4 SAIs are associate members of the organization. Accounts Committee of Kazakhstan is a member of INTOSAI since May 2000.
