Kazakhstan-OIC cooperation discussed

ASTANA. January 31. KAZINFORM Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev has had a telephone conversation with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu today, the press service of the Foreign Ministry informs.
The Secretary General of the authoritative international organization congratulated Kazakhstan and President Nursultan Nazarbayev on fruitful presidency in the OSCE, in particular, on successful organization of the Astana OSCE Summit.
As E. İhsanoğlu noted "the OIC expects much from Kazakhstan's chairmanship in our Organization".
In this context, the parties discussed the most urgent issues of the OIC's activity. The situation in Egypt and the OIC Summit scheduled for March 2011 in Sharm el-Sheikh were on agenda of the conversation too.
The parties agreed on continuation of close interaction within the Organization and in international issues.
