Kazakhstan not indifferent to global peace and security problems: Kazakh Ambassador to China

KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ The image of Kazakhstan as a country which doesn't want to remain indifferent to global peace and security problems has been essentially promoted in last few years. Kazakh Ambassador to China Ikram Adyrbekov has made it public at the workshop on the President's Address held in Beijing today.

According to I.Adyrbekov, these activities of Kazakhstan in 2010 resulted in taking the great responsibility of presidency in the OSCE.

"I am proud to state today that we have successfully coped with this mission and justified the confidence of the international community", the Ambassador said.

According to him, many foreign experts admitted that Kazakhstan managed to infuse new life into the Organization's work. Thus, the OSCE gained new strength for rebirth during the Kazakhstan's presidency.

"Certainly, the emphasis must be laid on the role of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev whose political wisdom and will become the main success guarantees of the Kazakhstan's initiative on presidency and holding the OSCE Summit in Astana", the Head of the Kazakh mission said.

Speaking of the Kazakhstan's SCO presidency I.Adyrbekov informed that Astana initiated the SCO Action Plan for 2010-2011. Over 100 different events are scheduled within this Plan.

"The culmination of these efforts will be the Anniversary Summit of the SCO scheduled for June15 this year in Astana. Besides, Kazakhstan will chair the Organization of the Islamic Conference this year as well", the Ambassador said.

He also emphasized the importance of holding such a big international cultural and sporting event as the VII Winter Asian Games in Astana and Almaty cities.
