Kazakhstan needs 5 thousand medical specialists - Healthcare Ministry

ASTANA. December 7. KAZINFORM /Zhanna Korkitova/ Kazakhstan needs to date at least 5, 000 medical specialists. Kazinform has learnt it from Vice Minister of Healthcare Erik Bayzhunussov who said it at a special briefing today.
"The issue of training healthcare personnel is quite sharp. To date we need about 5, 000 doctors. First of all, we need primary care physicians, TB doctors, neonatologists. But I am sure that due to complex measures we will be able to solve this problem", the Vice Minister noted.
According to him, a complex action plan is needed to resolve the problem of lack of medical personnel. This action plan should include social and financial support of the medical workers, he stressed.
"Raising our healthcare system to world standards, good wage, maximum social and financial support will let us solve this problem in 5-6 years", E. Baizhunussov highlighted.
