Kazakhstan national team to participate in 50th IMO in Germany
Six senior high school students will represent Kazakhstan Team, they are Kanat Satylkhanov and Nursultan Khadzhimuratov from Taldykorgan, Sanzhar Orazbayev from Aktobe, Yegor Klochkov from Pavlodar as well as Birzhan Muldagaliyev and Tolebi Sailauov from Almaty.
The reps from over 100 countries take part in the Olympiad scheduled on July, 12-22. It covers two stages scheduled on July, 15-16.
Presentation of Kazakhstan as the next country-organizer of the Olympiad in 2010 will take place at the closing ceremony at Bremen University.
The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students. The first IMO was held in 1959, hosted by Romania, with seven countries participating: Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany and USSR. Since then, the participating countries have taken turns in hosting it.The number of participating countries increased to 97 countries from all continents in the 49th IMO.
