Kazakhstan, Mongolia can join efforts to address challenges facing humanity – President Tokayev
As part of his state visit to Ulaanbaatar, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, Akorda reports.
The Head of State commended the results of the talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, which made it possible to elevate the cooperation between the countries to a level of strategic partnership.
Tokayev congratulated Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan and the entire people of Mongolia with the successful holding of the parliamentary elections in June this year. The Kazakh President expressed confidence that the new parliament will contribute greatly to promotion of democratic processes and greater authority of Mongolia in the international arena.
The Head of State called the dialogue between the legislative bodies as an important platform for promoting Kazakh-Mongolian relations and stressed the great role deputy groups of friendship play in strengthening of interparliamentary ties.
Tokayev also spoke about the political and economic changes in Kazakhstan, highlighting that the large-scale political measures taken aim at consolidating the principles of justice and rule of law.
The Kazakh leader also paid attention to the special role of cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the two countries’ relations as well as thanked the Mongolian side for the support of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which is regularly joined by prominent representatives of Buddhist temples of Mongolia.
As the Head of State said, Kazakhstan is to hold the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions under the theme “Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Future” next year. According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, advocating for peace and stability, can join efforts to address the fundamental challenges facing humanity.
For his part, Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan expressed gratitude to the Kazakh leader for the comprehensive support to develop contacts between the legislative bodies. Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan confirmed the readiness to work to further enhance interparliamentary interaction and expand the legal framework of bilateral relations.
Earlier it was reported that the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Mongolia signed the Joint Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership.
