ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan's Ministry of Culture and Sports has suggested establishing a professional speed skating club.
Minister Arystanbek Mukhamediuly put forward the proposal at the ministry's session in Astana on Wednesday. "This project will allow us to prepare our athletes for the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games. Of course, the implementation of the project largely depends on the financial support of the Samruk Kazyna National Welfare Fund," Minister Mukhamediuly said at the meeting. In his words, the decision on the project has been up in the air for a long time because of ‘sporadic and awkward moves of Kazakhstan sports officials'.
