Kazakhstan's male team shows historic result at 27th ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championships
The 27th ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championships continues to run in the Kazakh capital of Astana. Men's team representing Kazakhstan participated in a match for the 7th and 8th positions, Kazinform News Agency has learned from the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Team Kazakhstan clashed with Iran.
Defeating Iranian athletes with a score of 3-1, the Kazakh team landed 7th spot at the competition. A total of 24 national teams participated in the event.
As highlighted by the NOC, this result marked a historic achievement for Kazakhstan, as the country had not previously reached such a high ranking in men's team competitions. Additionally, this was the third consecutive occasion that the national team had secured a position within the top eight.
Team Kazakhstan includes Kirill Gerassimenko, Alan Kurmangaliyev, and Aidos Kenzhigulov.
