Kazakhstan launches WhatsApp analogue - iTys

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstani analogue of WhatsApp Messenger - iTys has been presented in Astana today. The messaging app developed in Kazakhstan is unique because users can text each other not only in Russian and English, but also in Kazakh.
"iTys is the next step in popularization of the Kazakh language and culture," head of iTys project Daut Shaikhislamov told a press conference in Astana. Shaikhislamov proudly noted ‘this is the first messaging subscription service developed in Kazakhstan. It is expected to unite all Kazakh-speaking Internet users across the globe.' "We all use WhatsApp, ChatOn and other popular messaging apps. But we created something different, something that has national spirit and style.
