Kazakhstan keen to develop coop with UAE, Dubai
In the course of the meeting Kazakhstani diplomat told about the current political and socioeconomic situation, investment opportunities and initiatives of Kazakhstan in the international arena.
He noted the UAE was a highly developed country in the Persian Gulf that despite global financial crisis managed to restore its economy promptly. He assured Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid that Kazakhstan was keen to develop relations with the UAE and Dubai in particular.
Mr. Shokybayev stressed that cooperation between two countries was developing in various spheres. According to the consul, the signing of the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and "Dubai Ports World" on April 21, 2012 would promote the implementation of joint projects in the field of logistics on the territory of Kazakhstan. In this context, A. Shokybayev invited Dubai businessmen to take part in the implementation of new large projects in Kazakhstan.
In his turn, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid congratulated A.Shokybayev on his appointment and mentioned that dialogue between the UAE and Kazakhstan was on a high level. He also emphasized the importance of further development of relations between the countries in the commercial and economic and investment spheres and reiterated the readiness to bend every effort to expand the bilateral cooperation.
The UAE Minister of Finance also noted the significance of renewing the direct flights between large cities of Kazakhstan and Dubai and promised to arrange a meeting with the President of Emirates Airline.
