Kazakhstan is given to democratic reforms and supremacy of law? OSCE conference

ALMATY. May 28. KAZINFORM /Dauren Zhailin/ ?Kazakhstan supports the course of democratic reforms and the supremacy of law?, Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazISS) Bulat Sultanov has said today at the international scientific-practical conference ?The OSCE and the processes of democratization in the context of regional security? in Almaty.
The conference is held within the preparation to the Kazakhstan?s OSCE chairmanship in 2010. Issues of cooperation of Central Asian countries in the field of security and democratic development were discussed at the forum.
Representatives of the OSCE Center in Astana, office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Kazakhstan, the OSCE Department of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Kazakhstani human rights defenders, public figures, social activists, government experts and independent research and analytical structures of Kazakhstan took part in the conference.
As B.Sultanov noted, Kazakhstan is ready to develop partnership with the OSCE institutions that cooperated successfully in our country both with governmental and nongovernmental organizations.
?Kazakhstan pays special attention to the cooperation with the OSCE in the formation of the Asian security. We are confident that the OSCE plays an important role in the development of legislation, conforming to international standards?, he said.
