Kazakhstan invested 5 bln Euro into German government securities: A. Rau

ALMATY. October 25. KAZINFORM Germany will become one of Kazakhstan's leading business partners in Europe and in the world, Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Albert Rau announced at the "Germany and Kazakhstan - cooperation ahead of EXPO-2017 - energy security with use of renewable and traditional sources of energy" forum in Almaty on Friday.

"In 2012 the sales turnover between our countries totaled 3.2 billion Euro, in January-August of 2013 - 1.5 billion Euro," he noted.

According to Mr. Rau, over 20 years of Kazakhstan's independence direct investments of Germany into Kazakhstani economy have amounted to 2 billion Euro, half of which has been attracted in last three years. At the same time, Kazakhstan has invested nearly 5 billion Euro into Germany government securities.

In his words, Kazakhstan and Germany enjoy good level of cooperation.

"Right now it is important to fill the content of the bilateral cooperation with qualitative, innovative projects in the industrial sphere without losing positive dynamics," the Vice Minister said.

"We highly estimate the prospects for cooperation. We have everything in place to raise our economies to a higher level. Germany prides on having new technologies, Kazakhstan - its mineral resource potential and advantageous geopolitical position. We are confident that our countries will establish themselves as the leaders in the world economy through joint and coordinated efforts," he concluded.
