ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan is interested in stable Afghanistan," chief researcher at the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Research under the Kazakh President Sanat Kushkumbayev said at the presentation of the Joint Declaration on Regional Peace and Stability initiated by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Astana.
"We are interested in stable and united Afghanistan with no threats of terrorism, drug traffic and extremism. We know it's a long-term task. Kazakhstan is interested in the Afghan market with 30 mln of people. The second economic aspect is that Afghanistan is a transit, strategic point, lying at the crossroads for the export of our goods to the south. The large market of India and Pakistan are still attractive for the country's business and the country at large," Kushkumbayev said. He stressed that Kazakhstan is ready to contribute to further formation of Afghanistan. Such presentations were held in Kabul, Istanbul, Islamabad, Peshawar, Washington DC, New York, Berlin and Brussels.
