"Belarus' innovation sector is experiencing vigorous growth, a lot is being done to commercialize the results of scientific research," Bakytzhan Zhumagulov said. In his words, Kazakhstan is now implementing a national industrial and innovation program which provides a good opportunity to establish cooperation with the leading Belarusian scientists and developers. While in Belarus the Education Minister of Kazakhstan is to study the best R&D projects of Belarusian scientists "in order to invite them to take part in joint research in Kazakhstan".

Talking about the creation of the single education space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, he emphasized the importance of settling the issues related to attestation of academic staff and the mutual recognition of diplomas.

"Personnel training in Kazakhstan has been up to European standards for over ten years already. Therefore, the attestation procedure in our country is different from that in Belarus and Russia. You have preserved a strict division between science and education, while Kazakhstan is trying to turn universities into scientific centers. Apart from that, the Candidate of Science degree has been abolished in Kazakhstan, we only train masters and PhDs. All these differences should be settled while forming the single education space," he said; Kazinform cites BelTA.
