Kazakhstan intends creating settlement and financial center for purchase of electricity from renewable sources

This has been announced by the Minister of Environmental Protection Mr. Kapparov, introducing the draft law "On introduction of amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan to support the use of renewable energy sources" at the plenary session of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

"At the meeting the working group of deputies took the initiative of establishing a settlement and financial center. The government supported this proposal, " said N.Kapparov.

According to him, in the future, organizations that produce electricity from renewable energy sources will be able to choose one of three schemes: the contract with the settlement and financial center, a scheme based on a constant rate, the rate approved by the bilateral agreement in accordance with the legislation on the power.

"Standard agreement to be conclusded with the organizations producing electricity from renewable energy sources will be approved by by-law," said the Minister.
