Kazakhstan, ICAO sign agr't to expedite the removal from EU blacklist of airlines

ASTANA. August 21. KAZINFORM Republican State Enterprise "Kazaeronavigation" and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) signed an agreement on information-management services, the press service of Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications said.
This document will allow Kazakhstan to expedite the removal of Kazakh airlines from the blacklist of the European Union, on which they were put in 2009 following the ICAO audit.
Specifically, the country will be provided information help on how to create the organizational structure, train qualified technical personnel, and set a detailed certification and supervision.
In accordance with the terms of the agreement, the ICAO Technical Cooperation Bureau will provide technical assistance to the aeronautical authorities of Kazakhstan in the field of flight safety, including the hiring of ICAO technical experts.
