Kazakhstan has all conditions for football development - Prime Minister

"We are pleased to welcome you in Kazakhstan, in our capital Astana. For us it is an honor that Kazakhstan was the first among CIS to host the UEFA Congress", said Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov, addressing a welcoming speech to the delegates, the UEFA and FIFA managements. Akhmetov said that football has a very large role in the consolidation of peace, friendship and harmony. Last year Kazakh football celebrated its 100th anniversary. The country has all conditions for the development of the sport. "The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev pays special attention to the development of sport and a healthy lifestyle. The head of state is the honorary president of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan", concluded PM. The Congress, which is UEFA's supreme governing organ, meets annually and is made up of representatives from each of UEFA's 54 member associations. A media conference, attended by UEFA President Michel Platini and UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino, will be held immediately after the Congress has concluded, at approximately 2.00 p.m. local time (09.00CET).
