Kazakhstan grabs 30 medals at Kazan Universiade

ASTANA. July 17. KAZINFORM The national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan has collected 30 medals at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia, says web portal Sports.kz.
Weightlifter Farkhad Kharki, runner Margarita Mukasheva and women's shooting team took home gold medals. Sergey Emelyanov of Kazakhstan also stunned the Summer Universiade by winning two silver medals in canoeing.
From the very beginning of the University Games Russia took the lead and remained the top scorer of the medal standings followed by China and Japan. Kazakhstan is ranked the 19th in Kazan Universiade medal table.
The final medal standings:
1. Russia - 292 (155 gold, 75 silver and 62 bronze medals);
2. China - 77 (26 gold, 29 silver and 22 bronze medals);
3. Japan - 30 (3 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals);
19. Kazakhstan - 30 (3 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals).
