Kazakhstan goes ahead with switch to Latin script

ASTANA. March 28. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan plans to form a committee that will monitor the switch of the state language to the Latin script.
Majilisman Aldan Smaiyl told a session of the Committee for Social and Cultural Development on Thursday that the panel will be appointed by September 2013.
The Kazakh Government officially confirmed its plan to set up the committee by 1 September of this year to Majilis (lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament).
As reported earlier, Kazakhstan will attract highly skilled experts in philology to replace Cyrillic with Latin and make the move as smooth as possible.
