Kazakhstan, Georgia eye deepening of bilateral cooperation

ASTANA. October 9. KAZINFORM Today, Chairman of Senate's Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security Ikram Adyrbekov has received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Kazakhstan Zurab Pataradze.

According to the chamber's press service, the sides had a wide-ranking conversation related to the expansion of Kazakhstan-Georgia interaction. Mr. Adyrbekov praised the high level of political dialogue and huge potential of economic cooperation.

The Georgian diplomat, in turn, briefed the head of the committee on the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and current activities of the Georgian diplomatic mission in Astana. Ambassador Pataradze reiterated Georgia's readiness to step up inter-parliamentary cooperation between the parliaments of Georgia and Kazakhstan.

The interlocutors also touched upon the problems of interaction in the sphere of customs administration, transport, tourism, exchange of experience between the public bodies and strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties.

Mr. Pataradze informed the Kazakh MP of socioeconomic development and domestic situation in Georgia on the threshold of the presidential elections set to take place later this October.
