Kazakhstan Foreign Office welcomes establishment of diplomatic relationships between Armenia and Turkey

ANA.  October 12. KAZINFORM  /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan welcomes establishment of diplomatic relationships between Armenia and Turkey and considers it as a breakthrough on the way to stability in the South Caucasus.

The Foreign Office has made a statement regarding signing the Protocol of establishment of diplomatic relationships between the Republic of Armenia and Turkey and the Protocol of development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Armenia and Turkey on Oct 10 in Zurich.

"We consider this event as a breakthrough on the way to establishment of peace, stability and well-being in the South Caucasus", Official Spokesperson of the MFA Yerzhan Ashikbayev has said at a briefing.

"Kazakhstan respects policy and vision of Armenian and Turkish leadership taking its root from the supreme interests of their nations. We highly appraise activity of international intermediaries, first of all Minsk OSCE group, heads of foreign offices of Russia, USA and France due to which the process of reconciliation between Armenia and Turkey has gained new impulse", the statement reads.

"As the next presiding country in the OSCE Kazakhstan will exert every effort for strengthening and development of the agreements reached", Y. Ashikbayev resumed.
