Kazakhstan, Finland to jointly produce farm machines
Details of the project initiated by Kazakhstani and Finnish partners were discussed Tuesday at a meeting with governor of North Kazakhstan region Erik Sultanov. "Petropavlovsk has good potential for manufacturing. All conditions for the implementation of the joint project are in place. I am quite optimistic about it," governor Sultanov said. Reps of Samruk Kazyna Invest LLP and Sampo Rosenlew Ltd. based in the Finnish city of Pori also attended the meeting. Jali Prihti, CEO of Sampo Rosenlew Ltd., said that ‘the joint project worth 1.9 billion tenge is aimed at manufacturing of European farm machines of high quality in Petropavlovsk using local workforce.' The manufacture is expected to produce 200 units of agricultural equipment per year and provide 128 new jobs.
