Kazakhstan exports beef for the first time - Agriculture Ministry

ASTANA. November 6. KAZINFORM - Beef has started to be exported from Kazakhstan for the first time, said the Minister of Agriculture Asylzhan Mamytbekov during the discussion of the draft Law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of agriculture" at the plenary session of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament.
"The farm named "Crown-Batys", "Karasu" Ltd. of Kostanai region, and "Agroproduction" Ltd. of Akmola region are selling the meat in Moscow and other Russian cities this year. This amount will be increased, of course, it needs more time", said A.Mamytbekov.
The Minister also said that for the year 2012 due to the measures of state support of livestock the breeding stock of cattle has risen to more than 20 per cent. In this case, there has been a change in the proportions in distribution of livestock population between the private farms and agricultural enterprises. If earlier it made 82 per cent of cattle farms, but now the figure has dropped to 70 percent.
