Kazakhstan explores new investment opportunities with international partners in Tashkent
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov held a series of high-level meetings with foreign government officials and business leaders during his visit to Uzbekistan for the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, Qazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
In talks with Lord Jason Stockwood, Member of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords and Minister for Investment, the two sides reviewed the current state of bilateral trade, economic and investment relations and discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation.
A key focus of the discussions was the implementation of the Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, whose ratification process was completed in June. The parties explored potential collaboration in several priority sectors, including energy, critical minerals, transport and logistics, finance, education and healthcare.
Kuantyrov highlighted the United Kingdom’s role as one of Kazakhstan’s most important investment partners and reaffirmed the country's commitment to attracting British capital, expertise and technologies to support the development of key sectors of the national economy.
During the visit, Kuantyrov also met with Bekzod Mamatkulov, Chairman of the Founders’ Council of Uzbekistan’s BMB Holding. The discussions focused on expanding trade and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as advancing joint initiatives in agriculture, tourism, food production, logistics and cross-border trade.
Both sides praised the strong strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, emphasizing the importance of deeper business-to-business cooperation and the launch of new joint projects.
The meetings concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthening economic, investment and business ties, while promoting sustainable development and enhancing regional economic integration.
