Kazakhstan expects up to 500,000 Chinese tourists in 2024
Up to 500,000 Chinese tourists are expected to visit Kazakhstan in 2024, according to Kairat Sadvakassov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Kazakh Tourism National Company. He said it on the sidelines of the Kazakhstan-China Tourism and Investment Forum ongoing in Beijing, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to him, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Kazakhstan in 2023 reached 367,000.

“We expect to increase this flow to 500,000 people. This is our forecast and goal,” he said.
He then noted that Kazakhstan has many chances to attract more tourists from China, given that both domestic and Chinese tour operators are keen on that.
He believes that special attention should be given to an advertising campaign to promote the national tourism product at the Chinese market and to establish business ties in this sector.
He also said that a film crew of China Central Television will arrive in Kazakhstan in April-May to shoot documentaries about the country’s tourist locations. The crew is set to visit Almaty, Shymkent, Astana cities, as well as Turkistan and Almaty regions.
There are also plans to organize off-road expeditions in summer-autumn periods to explore tourist automobile routes from Urumqi, XUAR, China, through the southeastern and southern regions of Kazakhstan to Astana.
More than 30 activities will be organized as part of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China, Kairat Sadvakassov added.
The Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China started on Thursday, March 28, with the opening of the Kazakh-Chinese Tourism and Investment Forum.
