Kazakhstan expects to complete WTO talks until the end of next year

NDON. October 22. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Gabbassov/ Kazakhstan expects to end talks on accession to the World Trade Organization till the end of the next year. Kazakh Minister for Economic Integration Zhanar Aitzhanova announced it at the Kazakhstan Business Forum on Friday in London.

"Two weeks ago in Brussels, we have held talks with Russia. Earlier in Washington, we concluded bilateral negotiations with the United States. This year Russia will be ready for accession to the WTO," Aitzhanova said.

The Minister noted that in connection with membership in the Customs Union Russia's entry into the WTO will have an impact on relations with Kazakhstan, as well as on the legal framework and agreements of the CU. In this regard, it is important to complete the negotiations on accession to the WTO before the end of next year.

According to Mrs. Aitzhanova, Kazakhstan and EU are currently negotiating the preferential recruitment of Kazakh personnel in oil and gas sector, the benefits to Kazakh suppliers and domestic producers from investors when making procurements.
