Kazakhstan, EU to cooperate in countering transnational crime
According to the Kazakh Deputy Prosecutor General, today's transnational organized crime is a serious threat to international security. Terrorism became one of the most dangerous challenges. The problem needs global solution through the joint efforts of the international community. Thus the role of various forms of dialogue between the states is growing nowadays", Mr. Merkel said.
Victor Andres Maldonado noted that Kazakhstan and the European Union face similar problems - money laundering, drug trafficking and terrorism. "These are transboundary crimes. We need to continue cooperation in struggle against these problems", he said.
He stressed that the EU would continue supporting Kazakhstan in all directions including the sphere of harmonization of the Kazakhstan's legislation with the European standards.
