Kazakhstan emergency statistics in 2013 improved by 16.7%

Astana. December 25. KAZINFORM - Over the first 11 months of the current year, the number of emergency cases has downed by 16.7% year-on-year, the number of the killed - by 10.8 %, of the injured - by 11.1 %, according to Vladimir Bozhko, the emergency situations minister.

At a briefing in the Central Communications Center, he said that in the above period, various natural and manmade disasters had occurred in the country and during that time the emergency service units received daily 100-200 calls from citizens asking for help in extinguishing fires, in rescue activities, in searching for the missing, etc.
Over the first 11 months of 2013, the emergency ministry's units visited 51 410 sites, rescued 6 236 people, evacuated 6 277 people from disaster areas, provided emergency medical services to 3 346 injured people.
