Kazakhstan Editors-in-Chief Club for unbiased 2015 electoral campaign
The Club urges its colleagues from republican mass media to support the Charter that was adopted at the National Academic Library in Astana. "At least 10 Kazakhstani mass media have already joined the Charter. We are committed to unbiased coverage of the 2015 presidential campaign and urge our colleagues from other mass media to sign the document," President of the Club Bibigul Zheksenbai said. "What we want our colleagues to do is to uphold international standards and ethics norms and avoid PR blunders and distributing unreliable information during the campaign. The Charter will help create relations that are based on mutual respect, recognition, and high political culture. Thus, journalists will contribute to transparent and fair electoral campaign in Kazakhstan," she added. "The Charter does not place limits on national mass media. I call on all journalists of Kazakhstan to sign the Charter, let's show the world our corporate spirit and that we all work for the benefit of our country," Director General of Kazinform International News Agency Dauren Diyarov stressed. President of Yegemen Kazakhstan JSC Sautbek Abdrakhmanov, Chairman of the Republican TV and Radio Corporation "Kazakhstan" Nurzhan Mukhamedzhanova, Chairman of Kazakhstanskaya Pravda JSC Aleksandr Tarakov and other heads of national mass media attended the meeting of the club.
