Aida Balayeva reminded that to preserve historical memory and honor the feats of soldiers in the Great Victory, the Ministry of Culture and Information launched the unique online portal last year. The platform is designed to collect, organize, and preserve information about front-line soldiers, as well as to provide open access to data on their role in the victory.

"Today, the website contains records of 705,488 veterans, including 365 Heroes of the Soviet Union, four twice Heroes, and 19 full holders of the Order of Glory. Special attention is also paid to honoring the names of heroes in public spaces. For the 80th Anniversary of the Victory, a decision was made to name streets and avenues after more than 500 veterans," she said.

She emphasized that May 9 is a day of great memory, courage, and heroism, when Kazakhstanis remember the feats of the generation of Victors with gratitude, honor the fallen, and express sincere appreciation to veterans.

"Kazakhstan made a huge contribution to the common Victory, to the triumph of justice and freedom on Earth. The names of Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, Talgat Bigeldinov, Qasim Qaysenov, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, Sergey Lugansky, Khiuaz Dospanova, Sagadat Nurmagambetov, and many other heroes are forever written into the chronicle of the Great Victory. Hundreds of Kazakhstanis were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and thousands of soldiers received combat orders and medals for their courage and heroism," Balayeva noted.

Aida Balayeva reminded that Victory Day is not only a memory of the past but also a crucial moral guide for future generations.

"Our common duty is to preserve the truth about the war and to pass on to young people the values of patriotism, unity, and respect for the feats of our ancestors. I congratulate you on Victory Day! May peace and harmony always reign in our country," she wished.

Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on Victory Day.
