Kazakhstan developed unique formula of national unity and consent, FM

Addressing the forum, Idrissov said that the country fully supports ideas of the Alliance of Civilizations contributing to strengthening of mutual understanding in the international arena through efficient and consistent realization of the initiative of President Nazarbayev on convocation of the Congress of World Leaders and Traditional Religions. Kazakhstan strongly supports the Alliance idea aimed at reducing tension between the East and West and had already joined it. Kazakhstan strived and will strive for ensuring efficiency of the global platform for interethnic and interfaith dialogue, the Congress of World Leaders and Traditional Religions, which is held once in three years in Astana and brings together reps of various religions from above 80 countries of the world. The fifth jubilee congress will take place in 2015. Speaking in favor of strengthening a dialogue of civilizations and consent, he stressed that Kazakhstan has also upheld the active position proposing the world its vision and plan aimed at enhancing interethnic and interfaith cooperation. The key factor of Kazakhstan's success is an efficient model of peace and harmony. "We developed a unique formula of national unity and consent among the citizens of Kazakhstan despite their religious, ethnic or cultural background. Independent Kazakhstan is a home to 120 ethnic groups living in peace and harmony," he noted. The minister also highlighted the role of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan.
