Kazakhstan delegation attends Kazakhstan-EU Parliamentary Coop Committee talks
Kazakh parliamentary delegation was headed by Deputy Chairman of Majilis Sergey Dyachenko. The delegation included members of the Majilis Aigul Solovyova, Vladislav Kosarev, Shafhat Utemisov and senators Byrganym Aitimova and Baktybay Chelpek.
It should be noted that the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee became an effective dialogue platform where the parties can exchange legislative activity views and experiences on the most topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
Kazakh MPs met with the co-chair of the Committee on the European side Paolo Bartolozzi. During the conversation the sides exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, stressed the importance of further development of close and mutually beneficial partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union.
As noted by the co-chair of the Committee on the Kazakh side, the Vice-Speaker of the Majilis Sergey Dyachenko, the meeting discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest between Kazakhstan and the European Union. In particular, the parties talked about the enhancement of a new basic agreement on advanced partnership and cooperation, collaboration in trade and economic sphere, prospect of visa facilitation.
In order to achieve and maintain global and regional security the MPs noted the importance of partnership to strengthen the state regime in Afghanistan (due to the next year's withdrawal of peacekeeping forces of the international coalition) as well as the unification of forces in the fight against terrorism, organized crime, human and drug trafficking.
