Kazakhstan defined three major challenges in processing industry with country's accession to Customs Union

The Head of the Ministry noted necessity of accelerating modernization of production through its technical and technological rearmament. The measures of state support must be raised up to the level of Kazakhstan's partners in the Customs Union in order to create equal conditions for competition.

"These are not only provision of additional subsidies, tax preferences, preferential tariffs for the natural monopolists' services but also provision of targeted budgetary loans for replenishment of the production's current and fixed assets", Kurishbayev noted.

The third challenge is conduction of the policy of protection of the domestic market from foreign competition through implementing a system of constraints.

"We have already developed a certain legislative base for this. At a rough guess state bodies purchase food stuffs to the amount KZT 75 bln per annum. We must ensure such volume through our domestic producers", he concluded.
