Kazakhstan creates its analogue of Barcelona and CSKA clubs; presentation scheduled for July

It has been announced by Managing Director of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund" Darkhan Kaletayev at a press conference in Astana today.

"We have completed the development of a project of the brand new club. The presentation is tentatively scheduled for early July. A meeting of the top-management of the club with President Nazarbayev will be arranged as well. The new sports club is reportedly will follow the likes of Real and Barcelona," Mr. Kaletayev said.

He also reminded that the initiative to create the Astana Club belongs to the Kazakh President.

The president's professional sports club Astana will incorporate all major sports projects of the country and promote Kazakhstan's image in the international arena. BC Astana, Astana Dakar Team, FC Astana, Astana water polo team, Astana Arlans, HC Barys and many more will join the club.

CEO of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna NWF" Umirzak Shukeyev earlier mentioned the idea to form the national sports club by analogy with Real, CSKA, and Barcelona.
