Kazakhstan continues work to promote Astana application for EXPO-2017
A Kazakh delegation headed by Foreign Ministry Senior Secretary, national coordinator of EXPO-2017 project Rapil Zhoshybayev paid a working visit to Sweden, Denmark and Finland on March 19-23. The main purpose of the visit was to promote Kazakhstan's application to host the international exhibition EXPO in Astana in 2017.
During the meetings Zhoshybayev presented President Nursultan Nazarbayev's message addressed to these countries' leadership, regarding support for Astana candidacy to host the EXPO Exhibition in 2017, Trend reports.
Members of the BIE will make a decision, which country will host EXPO-2017 in late November 2012.
Also during the visit the Kazakh delegation held talks with several officials from Sweden, Denmark and Finland, during which the topical aspects of bilateral political, trade and economic relations were discussed and agreements were reached on the development of bilateral cooperation.
