Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has announced it at a press conference following results of the negotiations with Federal President of Austria Heinz Fischer.

"Kazakhstan considers Austria as an important partner in the European Union. We have established good relations, political cooperation strengthens, economic relations and trade develop as well", the Kazakh President said it in Akorda on Friday.

The Head of the State noted that today's meeting with H.Fischer was held in the spirit of openness and mutual understanding. There was held an exchange of opinions on a wide range of issues of political, economic and other spheres. The sides paid special attention to strengthening business partnership.

"Despite consequences of the world financial economic crisis, dynamics of the mutual trade maintains. In 2009 the volume of trade turnover made up USD 1.5 bln. Over nine months of 2010 - over USD 2 bln", N.Nazarbayev stated.

92 joint enterprises are functioning in Kazakhstan. The total volume of the Austrian investments to Kazakhstan's economy reaches over USD 2 bln.
