Nurzhan Aitmakhanov is the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's spokesperson. "During the meeting with the Georgian envoy in late April, the envoy received a diplomatic note in which the Kazakh Foreign Ministry requested to explain the reasons why several citizens of our country were refused entry into Georgia and a number of copies of their applications," Mr. Aitmakhanov said. The Georgian diplomat admitted that some citizens of the CIS member countries had been blocked from entering Georgia and explained that those cases might be due to current fight against human trafficking in his country. He also assured that he would refer the concerns to his government. "Given the friendly relations between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Georgia and the fact that the year of 2014 was announced the Year of Kazakhstani Tourism in Georgia, the Georgian side has no intention to limit the flow of Kazakhstani tourists to the country and, on the contrary, welcomes their desire to visit local resorts and tour the main attractions," the ambassador added.
