Kazakhstan citizens told not to travel to Egypt as unrest continues

ASTANA. August 15. KAZINFORM Amid Egypt crackdown, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kazakhstan has urged citizens of the country not to travel to Egypt.
Nurzhan Aitmakhanov, the press secretary of the ministry, told Thursday press briefing in Astana.
"The Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan strongly recommends to avoid traveling to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its large cities, such as Cairo, Alexandria, Suez and Luxor," N. Aitmakhanov said.
In his words, the Kazakh diplomatic mission in Egypt is giving a stern warning to Kazakhstan citizens, especially students who are in the country, of the curfew imposed by the Egyptian authorities from August 15 till September 14.
"Our citizens are strongly recommended to stay away from mass rallies and be careful," the press secretary concluded.
