It was revealed by member of Majilis, the lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament, Valikhan Bishimbayev during the Wednesday press conference at the Kazakh Media Center in Astana. "Kazakhstan makes every effort in order to catch up with the OECD indicators in education and personnel training. Presently, the country spends 4% of its GDP on education. Recall that the OECD member states spend 4.5% of GDP. That means we have almost caught up with them," Majilisman Bishimbayev said. In his words, Kazakhstan has more than doubled its total expenditure on education over the past 7-8 years and it made 1.5 billion tenge. "Our goal is to get rid of the disbalance in the field of education - employee, enterprise and education should go hand in hand. Employees and educational institutions should be equally liable for personnel training," he added.
